ENVIRONMENTAL COMPLIANCE

PRETORIUS GROUP OF COMPANIES

We have a reputation of delivering projects on time, within budget and with an excellent safety record, underpinned by the commitment by Pretorius Group of Companies leadership and teams to service excellence.

Pretorius Group of Companies aspires to Zero Harm in all aspects of its business including the natural environment in which it operates.

PGC has established practices to prevent and mitigate pollution emanating from our industrial processes and this knowledge is expanded on and spread to all operations.  We have developed critical environmental standards to ensure environmental performance against which risks and opportunities can be assessed and managed. In addition, we have developed several performance strategies to limit our use of or manage:

  • water

  • energy consumption

  • process waste and

  • prevention of pollution to water, air and land.

Legal Compliance:

Our EMP's and Environmental Authorisations are embedded in our daily processes to ensure our operations constantly understand their obligations to our legal commitments. In addition to this we also ensure our operations are legally assessed annually.

Environmental Statement

We recognise that the key to a workplace without environmental impacts is through the development of a environmental awareness culture where our people show a genuine desire to protect the working environment from harm.

Environmental Management Compliance

  • Statutory and management control measures will be maintained and optimised to ensure the effective prevention of environmental pollution.

  • People are aware of the environmental risks and they will act in a manner which best prevents these risks.

Impacts and Aspects Management Compliance

  • By understanding and managing our environmental aspects and impacts, we can provide greater certainty for our stakeholders, employees, customers, suppliers and the communities in which we operate.

  • Throughout PGC, we will adopt a structured and consistent approach to aspects and impacts management, aligning strategy, processes, people, technology and knowledge for the purpose of evaluating and managing the uncertainties we face in creating shareholder value.

  • The aim is for our aspects and impacts management to become embedded into all critical business systems and processes to ensure aspects and impacts associated with changes or investments are systematically identified and managed on a common and holistic basis.

  • The level of aspects and impacts control will be balanced by our continued encouragement of enterprise and innovation, with good business governance being assured through the regular measurement and reporting of our environmental aspects and impacts management performance.

  • These assurance processes will focus on improving our ability to manage impacts effectively so that we can quickly and confidently act on opportunities to gain competitive advantage, create value and achieve real growth.
